How Pluto in Aquarius will affect Gen Z and the World

Pluto in Aquarius comes after an excruciating Capricorn transit starting back in 2008. That and the U.S. Pluto Return would be the first major transits that Generation Z, born 1997 to 2012, will have experienced and for some, this transit started when they were toddlers. Pluto in Aquarius will be nothing less of major as well.

What Pluto in Capricorn taught us

The main theme of the Pluto in Capricorn transit was structural changes. The ideas and paths that previous generations laid out were beginning to become shaky and unsatisfactory. It made denying the hard truths of the world impossible, and the working class and working conditions would be the “bearer of bad news” or hard truth: the future is a hamster wheel.

The predetermined future doesn’t align 100% with the values of Gen Z who, for the most part, is looking for a “good time, not a long time”. This generation would speak up for the underdogs, push for deep analysis of, well, everything, and the search for freedom. If life were a video game, then Gen Z just unlocked new characters and a whole lot of new skins.

What Pluto in Aqurius will bring

Pluto in Aquarius, starting March 24, 2023, will be continuing the structural work of Capricorn. While Pluto in Cap taught us that the future and life in general is not linear, Pluto in Aquarius will be focused on human changes.

Human changes? Yes, human changes. With the rise of Artificial Intelligence, or AI, and them supposedly gaining consciousness, quite literally the definition of what it means to be human will change. We will be reminded of our human vulnerability, too, and for Gen Z, this will happen through and because of social media.

Social media

Social media and the internet in general have given people access to so much information so fast. Gen Z is hungry for knowledge and grew up during the rise of technology, so this is seemingly perfect, right? Not really. It’s not perfect at all because no one is truly soaking in anything. No one is looking at reality anymore, and this is largely due to the fact that Saturn will be in Pisces just as it was when Pluto in Sagittarius generation (who makes up a good bulk of Gen Z) is said to have begun. Pisces is abstract, Saturn is practical; it’s hard to have good footing with this placement.

Gen Z struggles with making practical use of their vast knowledge. They know so much but so little at the same time. It’s like, yes, many know what shadow work is and are ready to do what’s needed in order to heal from traumas and be a better person, but some are financially illiterate or lack practical life skills. Both are essential for life, and Gen Z is vulnerable if they lean too much to one side.

Internet crimes

Some astrologers have discussed that Pluto in Aquarius will see a rise in internet-related crimes. Those who disregarded general internet safety in order to feel closer to others will fall prey to these crimes. Internet stalking will be a big deal as well. We get a taste of this already with the rise of stalking through Air Tags and obtaining IP addresses.

It’s important to know that in Vedic Astrology, it is Rahu who rules the internet and technology. Rahu is currently transiting through tropical Taurus. Taurus rules over women, so knowing this and what was just mentioned above, we see that the women and young girls of Gen Z will be the main victims of internet-related crimes. These crimes will be carried out heavily during Rahu’s transit through tropical Aries, the sign of intimidation, aggression and action, starting July 18, 2023, and ending in January 12, 2025.

Importance of digital footprint and lowered internet use

Gen Z’s digital footprint will be very important as there will be more micro-influencers thus putting a lot of people in a spotlight to be crucified. The family and friends of these micro-influencers will be affected by this spotlight, too. Gen Z will be raising the next generations so what trail are they leaving for others to follow? It’s no doubt the next generation will be online at much younger ages than Gen Z so what is put online will be even more important because now, the future is at stake.

Looking at the statistics of Gen Z provided by 99firms, we see that this generation is fully engulfed on the internet and smartphones.

Smartphones were released for public purchase in 1994 when Rahu made its tropical change to Scorpio, the opposite sign to the current Rahu in tropical Taurus. As said earlier, Rahu rules the internet and technology. Scorpio is the sign of resurgence and Taurus is stagnancy.

With this nodal switch, we may see a decrease in Gen Z using the internet or actively doing their best to spend less time on their phones or better yet, being more intentional with how they use their social media platforms. The internet and social media will be what Gen Z determines it to be. They are the new leaders, the new humanitarians, philanthropists, and much more. Again, their digital footprint is crucial to how the next generation will be raised.

The decrease in social media use will be due to the realization of the dangers and unhealthy habits of the internet bleeding into people’s life on a physical and spiritual level. This won’t be a huge movement of leaving, but apps will definitely see a dip in users of this generation. For those who do not use the internet for work and business purposes, they’ll be even more inclined to drop everything.

The internet will lose its lust as the years progress due to the increase of it becoming a commodity (NFTs, Bitcoin, etc.), politization and political censorship or lack thereof, videos of death becoming heavily circulated without consent of the victim or viewer(s), and soon the normalization of having casual conversations with AI, coded digital assistants, and NPCs. The internet will officially lose its fun.
