A new year means a new cycle of planetary transits, and 2023 is nothing short of curveballs from the celestial heaven. Prepare to be amazed by the planets for this year as it is the foundation for the next decade.
Pluto in Aquarius
Do you want a revolution? One of the most anticipated transits to happen this decade is Pluto’s ingress into the sign Aquarius. The last time this happened was during the Age of Revolution of the 18th century in which countries such as America and France embarked on battles of resistance to the government in power. For America it was against British Empire, and for France it was uprisings as a result of government failures. Out with the old and in the new, both revolutions resulted in each country representing themselves as republics giving power to citizens instead of a monarchy.
How will this manifest in the 21st century? Another revolution of course. This will look different for each country but what’s guaranteed is global uprisings for one common and simple reason: freedom. Specifically, freedom to choose what one wants to do with their life such as gender reassignment, abortion, career and clothing choices. We’ll also see intellectual shift in the collective. The internet itself will go through its own digital revolution with A.I. and Metaverse becoming its own kingdom in nature. Read more about Pluto in Aquarius in detail here.
Saturn in Pisces
There is a slight divide in the interests of Saturn and Pisces: Saturn is rigid and realistic, Pisces in abstract and imaginative. Saturn likes discipline and consistency; Pisces goes with the flow. Saturn takes a long-term approach to decisions; Pisces takes a one-day-at-a-time approach.
This transit will be a seesaw of life changing decisions both in government and personal life from March of this year til May 2025. There will major losses for everyone, and many will hit rock bottom so check where this transit is happening in your birth chart. For those who are spiritual, this transit is teaching you to be realistic in what you are asking from God, Universe, or Higher Power.
Venus Retrograde
A planet in retrograde means it appears to be moving backwards in the sky. A general rule of thumb for retrograde seasons is that things will get uprooted and flipped. These seasons are a reminder that life is unexpecting and full of surprises. Another way to look at retrogrades is to reevaluate what has happened prior to the retrograde in respect to the planet and sign the transit is happening in as it provides the necessary context to understand what will manifest during and after the retrograde.
The most important retrograde for 2023 will be Venus in Leo from July to September. Venus is the planet of love, and Leo is known to be the king of self-love. This will be a time of analyzing self-love practices and revealing the ways we are giving our love away that is to our detriment.
At the end of the year, we should be rooted in and aware of our reality in its ugliness and beauty, and defining what it means to love thy neighbor.
